Stichting GIST<\/strong> is opgericht om mensen in Afrika te laten groeien tot bakkers. GIST ondersteunt met opleidingen, de bouw van nieuwe bakkerijen en andere initiatieven die nodig zijn om mensen in Afrika een toekomst als bakker te geven.<\/p>\n

De stichting richt zich op mensen in Afrika die kansen zien \u00e9n cre\u00ebren door aan de slag te gaan als bakker. Doorzetters die van een dubbeltje een kwartje willen maken. Ook al werd hen dat dubbeltje in eerste instantie niet gegund. In samenwerking met lokale partnerorganisaties helpen we mensen op weg naar een betere toekomst. Zij kunnen zich aanmelden voor hulp.<\/p>\n

Het eerste project dat GIST steunt is een bakkerij in Tanzania (Same). Dit project is een initiatief van het Mama Kevina Hope Centre: een opvangcentrum voor kinderen en jongvolwassenen met een fysieke of mentale beperking. De gedreven zusters van Little Sisters of St. Francis hebben daar de dagelijkse leiding.<\/p>\n

In de bakkerij komt een speciaal opleidingslokaal, waar toekomstige bakkers vol enthousiasme de fijne kneepjes van het vak leren. De opleidingsbakkerij start met zes leerlingen die hun bakkersopleiding hebben afgerond in Tororo.<\/p>\n
