Golfmarathon 2026
July 29th, 2026
After another successful edition in 2025, in which no fewer than 33 enthusiastic golfers raised €40,000 for GIST, we are already looking forward to the next challenge: the golf marathon on July 29, 2026.
This year, too, we will be starting early. With a hearty breakfast under your belt and the first shots at sunrise, a sporting day of no less than 45 holes awaits the participants. A significant challenge, but above all, a day full of fun, perseverance, and camaraderie.
Whether you come for the sporting achievement, the great conversations along the way, or the shared goal: every shot counts. With your participation or support, you help create opportunities for people who desperately need them, through our bakery projects.
So: put on your golf shoes, gather your flight companions, and join in! Together, we will make it another unforgettable day — and hopefully raise another wonderful amount.
Kilimanjaro Climb
Spring 2027
Get ready for the adventure of a lifetime! In fall 2026 we’re heading to Tanzania to climb Mount Kilimanjaro via the famous 6-day Machame Route.
And the best part? Every fundraising contribution goes directly to building a training bakery for young people in Arusha, giving them skills and opportunities for the future.
Together with Genes Adventures, a trusted local team, you’ll experience breathtaking landscapes, incredible views, and magical nights camping under the stars.

Rwanda inspiration trip
February 2027
See the impact come to life! During this unique inspiration trip, you’ll witness first-hand the projects made possible by the GIST Golf Marathon 2026. On top of that, you’ll play on exceptional golf courses and discover the beauty of Rwanda through unforgettable activities and meaningful encounters.

Theater for GIST
November 2025
At the beginning of November 2025, theater company ‘Nieuw Leven’ performed an anniversary play: Bajesbonje. The company was founded in 1945, so in 2025 it celebrated its 80th anniversary!
This year’s performance took place at a special location: pop-up theater Aventuur! As a thank you for the use of this location, the society donated a generous amount of 750 euros to GIST.
Many thanks to all the actors and volunteers of the theater company for this wonderful gesture.
Sky Radio worldrecord
Christmas 2025
Sky Radio made a special attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the longest Christmas stollen in the world. The stollen—measuring no less than tens of meters in length—was baked by bakers from Amarant Bakkers, who were proud to participate in this festive initiative.
What made this campaign extra special is that Sky Radio is linking it to a generous donation to GIST. This world record attempt therefore contributes directly to the work of GIST and to opportunities for bakers worldwide.

Golf Marathon Heroes Raise €40,000 for GIST
On Saturday, August 30, 2025, 33 enthusiastic golf heroes set out to play an incredible 45 holes in a single day. Their mission: raise as much money as possible for GIST. The event took place on the beautiful polder course in Spierdijk. At exactly 6:45 AM the horn blew, and the first balls were hit. After a long, sunny day, the players came back in around 6:00 PM – tired, but absolutely thrilled.
The result? An amazing €40,000 raised! We can safely say this day was a huge success. Want to check out the final results of the online auction? Click here.
